Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Divorce: why having bipolar disorder is not a shitty excuse to be abusive and manipulative during a divorce.

“I just honestly can’t do this anymore. Why am I still in this place where I’m stuck for years? Like, he goes and moves to a different state every year. I have to be, like, together so I can raise the kids. He’s an amazing dad, he’s done an amazing job. I just think he deserves someone who will support his every move and go follow him all over the place and move to Wyoming. I can’t do that. He should have a wife that supports his every move and travels with him and does everything, and I can’t. I feel like a f–king failure. It’s my third f–king marriage. Yeah, I feel like a f–king loser. But I can’t even think about that. I want to be happy.” Kim Kardashian on her divorce.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West

Kanye West is very famous in the world of rap, considered almost a genius, a true artist. His problems related to his bipolar disorder are certainly not a secret.

On the other hand, his now ex-wife Kim Kardashian, who has become an icon is going through a very difficult divorce because of the singer behavior . Kim Kardashian, if you like it or not, has built an empire together with her family. Her wealth exceeds $350 million of dollars, and let’s face it, her career began when her sex tape was leaked online. The best way to start a career will you say? No. Has she managed to build an empire though? yes. So, as the feminist that I am, I can only say touché.

However shall we return to the stormy divorce between the two stars? yes . Kanye has always been considered in the show business as a particular person or out of the lines, confident and with strong narcissistic traits as well. During the filming of Keeping up with the Kardashians (the reality show dedicated to the Kardashian family) there are some red flags, for example, you can see some very controlling behaviors by Kanye. In one episode he even makes Kim throw away all her clothes so that he can make her dress in the way he prefers, of course to an uncaring viewer it may seem trivial, but honestly I find that , a slightly controlling behavior. Following the divorce Kim during one of the episodes admits that she feels like she has failed, since it’s her third divorce and that she tried in every way to be the best woman for Kanye but it didn’t work out. I thought that Kim was quite mature, although let’s face it the Kardashians are certainly not diplomats at the front, that doesn’t mean that they are not still human beings with emotions and flaws. I appreciated Kim sincerity and her questioning.

After an initial “quiet” breakup, however, the dramas and the various scenes from Kanye West began, first by starting to show everywhere and brag about his new girlfriend, then by making comments on the new boyfriend of Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson (an American comedian, who is really good I must say and honestly I never expected him as Kim boyfriend). After this, Kanye started to convince his fans to attack Kim’s boyfriend, but not only that, after leaving his girlfriend after only a month, he bought a house right next to Kim’s and even showed up on Valentine’s Day with bouquets of roses trying to convince her to get back together, despite the fact that it was his fault and that was the main reason for the divorce. The sad thing about this story is that many see his gestures as romantic and others find them purely entertainment for gossip, but the reality is that if Kim Kardashian wasn’t famous, if she didn’t live in a house surrounded by bodyguards and cameras, I would honestly be seriously worried about her safety.

And I honestly find no excuse in Kanye West’s diagnosis of bipolar disorder. With the right therapy, and with the right medications slowly you can get better, sure it’s not easy, I’m not sayin that, but that’s no excuse to harass your ex-wife and her boyfriend. I think if this same situation happened to an ordinary person, not a celebrity, we wouldn’t be here making so much gossip and laughing at Kanye West’s actions.

The COVID-19 pandemic is not only a health emergency but also a serious economic and labour market crisis that is having a huge impact on people worldwide.

Many economists are carrying analysis on the phenomenon, among these research and preliminary estimates by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) appear to be peculiar.

Based on possible scenarios outlined by the ILO, estimates indicate an increase in global unemployment due to the economic consequences from COVID from 5.3 to 24.7 million. The effects of the crisis on hours worked and income are massive. This crisis may have a greater impact on some groups of workers, increasing inequalities. Among them, people in less protected and lower-paid jobs include young and older workers and migrant workers.

As a matter of fact, the timely adoption of effective and coordinated measures can limit the impact of this crisis. In addition to defining principles and rights at work, international labour standards can guide the design of both labour and economic policies and interventions, these standards shared among the 187 ILO countries promote decent work and a fair and sustainable economic recovery.

As stated by ILO, their strategy aims to limit and contain the effects of COVID-19 and should be structured around four main pillars: (i) protecting male and female workers in the workplace; (ii) supporting the economy and demand for labour; (iii) supporting work and incomes; and (iv) finding shared solutions through social dialogue.

They expect that policies should focus on two immediate objectives: health protection measures and economic support on both the demand and supply side. First, workers and their families need to be protected from health risks by strengthening policies and measures on health and safety at work. Secondly, there is a need to respond through timely and coordinated large-scale policies to support employment and income and to support enterprises, sustain the economy and demand for labour. Decisions by public authorities with the involvement of employers’ and workers’ representatives are crucial for the adoption of measures that are effective and socially acceptable.

Regarding the specific case of Italy, ISTAT (The National Statistics Institute) last surveys show positive signs on recruitment together with difficulties for firms in finding  adequate professionalism

13.6% of the enterprises stating that they had not increased their staff added that they were in the process of acquiring resources at the end of last year. In particular, in addition to the construction of buildings and civil engineering, there was a relatively higher frequency of recruitment in sectors such as chemicals and pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, software production and IT consultancy.

A very significant proportion of enterprises which have recruited, or were in the process of seeking out staff, reported difficulties in finding the necessary skills: this concerns more than 76% of units in the construction sector and 66.4% in industry. The problem also affects more than 50% in the service and commerce sectors. On the whole, difficulties in acquiring personnel are reported more frequently in smaller units: 63.9% and 66.7% of micro and small enterprises, 58.2% of medium-sized and 50.1% of large enterprises respectively.

Among the missing profiles, those related to logistics and production are most frequently reported, especially by medium and large-sized enterprises. Profiles related to technical-engineering functions in support of production are also indicated above all by medium-sized and large enterprises, while among the micro enterprises there are relatively more frequent difficulties in finding resources in the organisational-management area and in sales, marketing and communication.

Finally, just under 10% of the enterprises declared that they had recorded a higher rate of resignations than that observed in the pre-pandemic period, especially among large enterprises (23.0% among units with more than 250 employees). At the sectoral level, a comparatively high incidence of resignations is found mainly in air transport, travel agency and tour operator services and also in social assistance services.

In the light of this, there is reason to believe that policies oriented to focus on the four ILO’s pillars mentioned above, together with public interventions to support demand especially in sectors considered crucial in this historic time, can succeed in fostering the ascent from Covid-19 socio-economic crisis

What depression feels like

Living with depression is no picnic for sure. Unfortunately, it’s one of those things that you have to learn to live with.

In Italy, mental health is still a taboo and is a topic that is treated very poorly. Fortunately, the younger generations are more informed and attentive to these issues because, following this pandemic, they are also the most affected.

Personally, I’ve had many ups and downs in my life, but the last year has been the most difficult for me, so I’m struggling to move forward without collapsing completely. The only thing that is currently keeping me going is studying and making my family proud.

Unfortunately, when the suffering is so big, we tend to become particularly selfish, the pain prevents us from being rational and therefore from thinking that the people around us can also suffer seeing in this state. Unfortunately when the peaks of depression are very high the only solution seems to be to cry yourself to sleep and stay in bed for days. Let’s not talk about one’s personal hygiene, which can remain completely unconsidered for days. It almost sounds gross but unfortunately it is the harsh reality, when the mental pain is so strong, believe me, taking a shower is not on the list of things to do. Eating becomes an option or a consolation, depending on the period. You look for anything that might help you to dissociate from the pain. Sleeping, alienating yourself on social media for hours. I was able to stay locked in the house for a month straight with no problems. When people started freaking out about the restrictions imposed by the government I almost laughed because for me it wouldn’t have changed my life at all.

One thing I definitely hate as a person who suffers from this disease, because it is a disease, is when they give me shitty advice like “go out, take a walk and listen to some music, trust me! It’s simple, it’s all in the mind!, if you want it you can do it”. It’s like if I told a person in a wheelchair that in order to walk they simply have to want it. So you can understand the frustration. The annoying thing is simply not knowing how each day will be; will I wake up in a good mood? will I have a crisis? will I be okay? Every once in a while I wish I could have some peace, I think I deserve it. You should never underestimate certain issues and especially if you are really hurting seek help, any help you can get.

Euphoria- the peculiarity of the color palette for each character

Every character is Euphoria has a specific color palette.

Maddie

We’re going to start with Maddie, her main color is purple, and this is very interesting because something as simple as a color can really impact how you view a character, how you feel during a certain scene. We cannot deny that there’s definitely a certain psychology behind it. The choice of purple for the character of Maddy is really appropriate because usually this color is associate with royalty and status and Maddy is definitely a powerful and a leader character. This color also represents moodiness and drama, and we can see she is as well. Also, this color is mostly used with sexiness and sensuality and Maddy is most certainly a very sensual girl.

Alexa Demi as Maddy

Jules

Jules color palette is one of the most unique. In fact, is full of pastel colors. I think it reflects a lot her personality. Multi colors are very artistic and playful and can be even seen as childish which describe her personality quite well. She’s a quite confident person, so this does reflect through the bold choice of colors as well. She uses a lot of pink to conquer her ideal image of femininity given her transition.

Hunter Schafer as Jules

Rue

Rue main color is maroon is especially significant because of her maroon hoodie (it was her dead father hoodie). This color makes perfect sense because maroon is composed by red and brown. Maroon is more an introverted version of true red, but it is still passionate. Both colors symbolize love and aggressiveness, both traits that rue has. Maroon is also a comforting color, like she might need comforting, and it also might mean protections, in fact she’s protective of her sisters and Jules.

Zendaya as Rue

Cassie

Cassie only wears two main colors, light blue and light pink. The main used, however is light blue and it symbolizes sadness and Cassie struggles a lot with daddy issues and also these colors are often associated with loneliness which is something that Cassie is terrified of. Blue is a really emotional color, and we can see that she uses the deepest shade of blue on her darkest moment, when gets an abortion. Pink on the other hand is associated with romance. Cassie is a hopeless romantic, however she wears more childish pink than confident and bold pink that might be because of her insecurities. She’s not innocent but she’s definitely naïve.

Sydney Sweeney as Cassie

THE NEW HBO SUCCESS: EUPHORIA

“It wasn’t the violence that scared her. It was the fact that she knew , no matter what she did, she’d still love him.”

Rue and Jules

By being on tik tok my FYP (for you page for those who don’t use the app ) is filled with video of this new HBO tv series called Euphoria. I wasn’t really interested at first. Honestly the only thing that caught my attention was the lead actress who’s Zendaya, very popular American actress and the general color palette used as the main theme for the series. Euphoria (based on an Israeli mini-series with the same name) premiered on HBO June 16th. When I saw a few sneak peeks, I simply understood that this was a teen drama, nothing special then. However, tik tok particularly pressing marketing campaign worked and I found myself in a binge-watching loop for about a week for the first season of the TV series. I felt drained by the end of it, I didn’t sleep for about a week to be able to finish it all. I felt drained in the sense that this series is so devastating in its depth and especially in its rawness. Honestly it may be a particular trait of mine, but I do seriously love series that are so raw that leave nothing to chance and especially that are not afraid to show the real shit. Let’s face it, life can sometimes be shitty, and this is what Euphoria try, in a particularly extreme way, manages to convey. I think it succeeds in capturing the viewer so much because it deals with various issues, including substance abuse, domestic violence, toxic relationships, difficulties in relating to their parents who are not always perfect role models, friendships that are sometimes unstable, traumas, fear of not fitting into society, etc. All the actor performances are on point and the casting I do believe it fits them perfectly, and some of the actors were even scouted in street or in the mall. I do think that this series is target to both the youngest and the adult people, but it must be watched with a critical and empathic point of view. It also may be triggering, I warn you because it was it for me but at the same time it was somewhat cathartic is someway, so now it is up to you to decide if it’s worth it watch it or not.

Euphoria Season 1 Trailer

You shouldn’t have too much expectations for new year’s eve

I learnt during my long 25 years of life that you shouldn’t expect anything for your new year’s eve celebration. Every time I had something planned, it sucked, seriously. I’m talking about having party with 4 years younger people to be in the middle of the street traying to avoid to be killed because of the fireworks, or being the adult friend and helping everyone who’s had too much to drink and it’s throwing up even their soul. I’ve always dreamt of spending my new year’s eve with my half but guess what? iT NEVER HAPPENED. The last 3 years I spent the most awful New Years eve you could ever imagine. One was with my ex who wanted to break up with me while “Still loving me”, the second one I spent it in my bed and the other one I spent it alone cause the boyfriend at the time bailed on me last minute, just to call me at midnight with a fucking “happy new year” text message. This year however despite my luck, I may wanna say that I had for the first time in years a decent night. Yes I walked for 3 hours trying to find a place to drink, yes we were a really weird group 5 Sicilian and two dutch girl we just met in front of a sketchy tourist trap club but yet we did have our fun. We, I, found a table in the most tourist area of Barcelona and despite covid, tourists, scammers we did have our drinks and a great night between some Italian, English, Spanish and dutch word. And let’s see at the bright side with all of the walking I reached my daily 10.000 steps goal, so not that bad. For once after the worst year of my life, I had fun during this “wicked” night.  So I guess my thoughts on this are that if you’re thinking at the worst something decent might came up, but if you’re expecting the best, honey you won’t have it. Trust me, from a former looser during New year’s eve.
